Jesus Is The Light... Are You A Mirror?

As we ask ourselves the question this Christmas season, "Why Did Jesus Come?", we have to ask if he came for all the reasons we celebrate the holidays. One thing I like about celebrating Christmas in our weekend celebrations is that there is no pretense... we ALL know why we are gathered to sing and to celebrate... it is because of Jesus' birth. But do people that we see everywhere else - at work, at school, driving in our cars, at home, at the store, at the ball game - know that is why we personally are celebrating Christmas?

We learned Sunday that Jesus came to "replace darkness". He is the "true light that gives light to every man". The questions is, are you reflecting that light? John 1 says that John the Baptist "came as a witness to testify concerning that light." Later in the chapter, it says that John "testifies concerning Him (Jesus)". We need to be mirrors of Jesus. We cannot produce light, but we can reflect the light that is Jesus.

Take the challenge this Christmas season to reflect light and help Jesus replace the darkness in the world. You cannot forcefully remove darkness... darkness is replaced with light. Let's shine the light of Jesus by being a mirror! If we do, the world will never be the same again!
